7-Eleven was issued a patent (8,112,920) this week on a tube-shaped sign that turns, along with "hot dogs and taquitos," on a roller grill.
The sign can expose additional information as it rolls, such as, apparently, the price in Spanish.
The patent reassuringly notes that "Washing of the rolling member can be performed in some embodiments."

That's really a real huge statement for hotdog grills. I first seen that rolling patents sign. Thanks for letting me know the 7 issued. :)
